Type of diabetes

Coffee diabetes
So I’m on trulicity 3mg for type 2 and estrogel gel for peri. I also have mirena coil.
Back in the summer I finally started to sleep better. Not perfect but not waking and staying awake at 3am etc.
End sept I had hba1c and it was 52.
When the weather temp dropped I was constantly freezing. But still sleeping well.
I think I’ve been a bit off diet recently and not checked sugars as well and think they may have raised a bit.
Also for last couple of weeks my sleep has been awful. I’ve had dry mouth (this I always thought was diabetes but not always so sure) and moods not as good. Work has been stressful but it’s work.
Could my peri symptoms be being triggered by higher (not stupidly high but maybe body just only likes a certain level) sugars?
I haven’t been as cold recently (still cold but not as painfully cold as I was earlier).
It struck ne at 3am this morning that maybe it could be higher sugars that are stopping the HRT from being as effective?

It could be your raised sugars or it could be your perimenopause. It might be worthwhile having your bloods, including hormone levels checked again. It could be as you progress through your meno that you need to have your meds tweaked to keep you comfortable.

Thank you.
I can’t have hba1c done as less than 3 months.
Was going to ask dr if I could have hormone test done. Just seems bit weird!
Was really good for few months!

Hormone tests are a bit hit and miss during menopause according to quite a number of drs, a lot of articles I’ve read. They are notoriously all over the place so two different days can give two very different results. It’s only once they are consistently lower and it’s all pretty much over that the tests can really tell us much and we already know it by then. I do seem to see, anecdotally, that lower carb/lower hba1c women tend to have a bit easier time of it than those struggling with their bgl, metabolic issues. Always exceptions both ways of course.
