I dont know why, but this morning I was 7.1 and now 2 hours after breakfast I am 8.0. Is this a delayed effect of my eating out over the weekend (though I was good and did not eat that much more carbs than I would normally, just different foods). I ate very low carb for breakfast I ate 196 cals, 15g fat, 10g carbs, 7g protein, 8g net carbs, 0g sugars.

I wouldn't worry, mine has taken 2 months thusfar to show any reduction at all, and I'm fully expecting it to go up again! Just keep doing what you're doing, keep making notes and testing :)

I test regularly and note everyting I eat. Not had a reading over 8.0 since the 17th, 7 days after diagnoses. usually I am 6.0 - 6.9 after breakfast.

yes, but it's not an exact science! Your meters tolerance is about +/- 10%, other things can affect you like maybe you've got a cold coming, or the heat, or even being stressed about something :)

Tree-peony is right, except that it's up to about 15% that meters are often out. ALSO. how you conduct the test can effect the reading (squeezing too near the puncture, not washing hands enough, not drying enough, etc)
Main thing though, is that mornings are notoriously tricky to get under control compared to later in the day for a lot of people. I wouldn't worry about a couple of higher than usual readings at this stage. Also, the RISE from before to two hours after wasn't large.

Thanks guys, I was stressed and emotional yesterday, you probably read my post (yesterdays levels from lunchtime were 6.7, 6.4. 6.3. 6.7. I wash and dry hands well at home, maybe not so much when out and about, Intersting about squeezing near puncture, I do tend to squeeze a little I will try and not do that :D and it is very hot out for the last few days.

Thanks chaps, I will test later and see what it is :D
