Hello everyone, looking for advice regarding correctly fitting shoes and/or specially made shoes...
Recently diagnosed as pre-diabetic, have taken up walking as part of my weight loss plan, and would appreciate anyones thoughts or suggestions. Can anyone recommend a suitable retailer, high street/on-line, or specialist shoe maker in my area.
My location is southeast england, Medway area. Can travel within reason....

many thanks for any replies......David

Hi David, I'm not sure your diabetes condition calls for special shoes - however if you intend to start walking for miles it would be good to go to a specialist outdoor centre and research walking boots with them.

Also, hopefully you are getting your feet checked regularly as part of your diabetes control.

Good luck!

Clark's still do shoe fittings and they sell a small range of walking shoes. I have had my shoes sized recently due to width changes with my weight. I use that size to guide me in other purchases.
You most likely won't need special shoes but podiatrist can advise.

I don't know the criteria for nhs orthotics shoes but they may be a source of information or advice? Good luck you are wise to look after your feet.
