Sun sensitivity

I’ve been caught out twice now with an extreme sensitive reaction to very little sun. The first was in March and I put it down to not having much exposure post winter but the second was today. I wear a SPF tinted moisturiser daily but it clearly wasn’t enough for my trip to the shops in the afternoon sun (of which there has been very little here).

I’ve checked the drugs I’m on: Metformin, Atorvastatin, Citalopram (antidepressant) all of which list increased sensitivity asap possible side effect. I was on this last year and had no such episodes and even went to Tenerife last July without a problem. Yes, there I was much more thorough in my sunscreen application.

Anyone else has issues? Is it something else? I have my annual review in a couple of weeks and I plan to raise it but are there alternatives to these drugs without sun sensitivity? Or will they just say where high factor always?
