Hello everyone,
I watched a programme last night called Superfoods, any one else see it. ? A survey has been done and they were interviewing people in Italy about coffee.. Apparently the results were :::::: coffee is good for the liver, especially ground coffee, but ordinary coffee is good too. Up to 4 cups a day is good. Also Saphron taken at night in hot water is good for insomnia, this was backed up by a Herbalist who specialises in medicines. Interesting. :)

I'd support the findings with a heavy dose of moderation! Anything that is good for us, seems to be bad in some way, shape or form. Take it like this - coffee also has caffeine which can cause heart palpitations, raised blood pressure and insomnia which can increase risk factors for various conditions including type 2 diabetes... Whilst your liver may be having a great time, other part of you won't. Anything we enjoy has it's pros/cons...

As for the saffron, go for it if you have loads of spare money lying around:D

This whole superfood epidemic we're having seems a bit of a fad to me really. I'll continue to drink my coffee, eat my broccoli - but at no time will I expect the foods alone to make me live longer.

Will tune in to that show next time though, I do like ma food programs:)

Been doing some home testing on coffee recently - and it definitely and significantly raises my blood pressure. From normal to hypertensive. Even decaff.

So I am mourning the loss of my morning coffee at the moment. Very sad.

Of course, it doesn't mean it affects other people like that.

Do you have to drink the ground coffee or eat it
