<blockquote data-quote="rjfromuk" data-source="post: 318058" data-attributes="member: 36268"><p><strong><u>Diabetes UK - Guildford & South West Surrey Voluntary Group</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Keep your feet on the ground</u></strong></p><p>Monday 22nd October 2012 6.30pm for 7.00pm - 8.30pm</p><p>Royal Surrey County Hospital - Post Graduate Education Center, Egerton Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7XX</p><p></p><p>Introduction - Putting Feet Forward - Baroness Barbara Young (Chief Executive Diabetes UK)</p><p>An overview of local challenges in the Guildford & South West Surrey area - Prof. David Russell-Jones (RSH)</p><p>Multi-disciplinary Foot Care - 'Management of the Foot Attack' - Prof. Mike Edmonds (King's College)</p><p>Open Forum Discussion</p><p></p><p>Please note the lecture hall holds 200 - we have invited Gp's, specialist nurses, podiatrist and consultants from MDT (Multi Disiplinary Teams) from across Surrey along with people with diabetes who have concerns regarding their feet, carers also welcome. </p><p>The event is free - Donations in the Diabetes UK collection boxes would be much appriciated on the night.</p><p>The prime purpose of this event is to diseminate information to people with diabetes on how to avoid feet problems.</p><p>Currently 80% of amputation could be avoided with early intervention & the correct treatment.</p><p> </p><p>If you wish to attend please contact rjohnsonuk@yahoo.com to reserve a place.</p></blockquote><p></p>
