Well, my husband has bought sweetbreads from the butcher. If you don't know, they are offal. I'm not marvellously keen, I need them crispily cooked, not soft, but I humour him in his dietary tastes (stopping at tripe!). So I'm looking them up on My Fitness Pal and the entries are confusing. I think some might be sweet bread, but some are obviously meat products and have enormously high carbs.
On to Google, where I think I've found correct nutritional values (very low carb) and the information that I will be eating the pancreas of some other poor creature!
I know it's highly unlikely, but do any of you happen to know if sweetbreads are ok on a low carb diet? Not that I'm looking for an excuse not to eat them...
I'd just rather not have too many carbs today as I know tomorrow's family Father's Day BBQ is likely to be pretty carby.
