Hi

Wondering if any one could help I take sweetners in my coffee but I'm now hearing conflicting messages. Diabetic nurse says ok but to change make now and again, practice nurse says there ok and other diabetic say not to touch them at all. Thanks.

It is better if you can educate your taste buds to like tea/coffee without any sort of sweetener. It took me a while to do it but it is achievable!

If you want "diabetic safe" sugar alternatives try stevia or erythritol - both have near enough no carbohydrate or calorie content. But be careful with stevia as it is very sweet and can sometimes have unsuitable bulking agents added.

I have been on low carb for about two weeks and I have been suffering pain in my tummy like a cramp and higher up a tenderness.I am on laperamide as I have problems after eating. I had xray and the doctor tells me I am constipated bur I am not even today I have very loose stools. I have read that low carb can cause constipation but I have not been. So I don't understand is this a side effect of low carb or just something else. I have lost weight these two weeks which I am pleased about.

I thought I would update on my last message I have sent for a book on low carb and will follow that as maybe I am making some mistakes.
