Could anyone please advise if it is possible to switch back to oral tablets from insuiln? I am writting this on behalf of my mother who is almost 60 now and has recently been moved onto Insulin from tablets. she has been experiencing adverse effects which have drastically increased her blood pressure. She is experiencing headaches, loss of appetite and muscular pains.

Im wondering if it would be possible to switch mack from insulin back to tablets but am not really sure if there would be any adverse effects?

Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kash

Please ask her to go back to her doctor since she really needs to discuss this him/her. Insulin per se doesn't usually have these type of side effects. (muscle pains in particular sounds odd)

Presumably the reason she has gone onto insulin is that her glucose levels were too high on her previous medication so going back onto the tablets would not necessarily be of any benefit.

Has she been testing her blood glucose levels frequently?
If she is not eating it is possible that she is experiencing hypoglycemia or just feeling hypo because she is not used to lower levels. (though to be honest, these are not classic hypo symptoms). On the otherhand headaches can be associated with too high levels. Sorry to be so vague,I really do think she needs to tell her doc it might be something completely unrelated.
