Hi I wonder if anyone can give me some advice? For four years I have felt unwell with symptoms getting worse over this period. Doc has repeatedly put it down to stress, anxiety, nerves, restless leg syndrome, etc but I have all the symptoms of type 2 diabetes and had every test going except this one. I am due to go back to docs this week for more answers but there is one symptom that doesn't fit which I'm hoping someone can tell me about.
I frequently wake up shaking, internal shaking with racing heart. It feels like all the nerves in my legs are alive and my heart races. All this happens for a couple of mins only till I am awake and breathing deeply. It can happen if I fall asleep in the day but is worse at night normally in the early hours. It happens frequently ie every night then nothing for a few nights or weeks then back again. Is this a symptom of type 2 diabetes.
I have read a few blogs on here and some sound very familiar so I have been monitoring my food/sugar intake and I find if I drink my usual 4 pints of water a day the jittering/shaking at night is minimised together with eating bananas, and other carbs before bed.
Apart from this odd symptom which is worrying I have the other symptoms of type 2 diabetes but guess my Gp will tell me to go away and that it's stress etc. I wanted some evidence to present to them and have considered getting one of those devices that measures your blood levels. I know it's not in my head. It's not stress or anxiety but theses symptoms are causing stress as I don't know what I'm dealing with.
Can anyone help or advise please.
Many thanks
