I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am taking metformin along with other tablets for my heart but am experiencing headaches constantly. Could this be due to my body adjusting to the metformin? Has any one else experienced the same symptom as this when introduced to this drug? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi. I've not come across headaches being a problem on this forum over the months for Metformin, but there are exceptions for all drugs

I had a whole variety of aches with metformin, including headaches. I also had headaches when first diagnosed while my body was getting used to running on lower levels of sugar in my blood

Hi Paul12!

Welcome! Have they prescribed a Statin together with your meds? That can cause headaches and body aches.
