T1 dry sore heavy eyes

Hello, advice please. My blood sugars are generally in range between 5 and 9, however, when I eat and take the necessary amount of insulin based on the carbs, my eyes become so heavy, dry and sore. I drink about 3 to 4 pints of water a day and wear glasses for distance. Recently had my diabetic eye test and ophthalmic one, all ok.
Any thoughts ?

is it always just after eating food ?

I suffer with dry eyes and use a carbomer gel a couple of times a day to relieve symptoms.
my t1d has been blamed for this
