Hello, my name is Gary, diagnosed 2 days ago but had realised just before Christmas, no surprise really, have had too much of a sweet tooth for far too long!
I live in Ipswich and work for a Large Builders Merchant as a manager. I live for the Norfolk Broads and spend as time up there as possible, my main love is my Long Haired German Shepherd Zac, I have a motorcycle but do not use it as much as I would like, I am married but no kids, the dogs keeps us more than busy.
Looking at live with Diabetes as a positive, a chance to change my life for a better healthier future, I know there are going to be tough times ahead and as I am yet to have my first session with the diabetic nurse, I know my diet will have to change drastically, but I am prepared to do what ever it takes to make me healthier, using this as a wake up call. My family has a history of heart disease and this would have got me also without a change to my lifestyle, being diagnosed now with this is the shock I needed.
There will be lots of question on my part and I will look forward to joining in with other threads where I can!
all the best for now,
Gary.

Welcome to the forums Gary. There's some great info on the website and in the forums so have a look around.

Any questions, just ask and there's often someone around who can help.

At some point @daisy1 will probably give you the 'joiners pack'.

Hello Gary. And welcome to the Forum, you will learn a fair amount on Diabetes from some very knowledgeable people here.
