Oh dear, that is disappointing for you! :( Have you changed your diet at all since diagnosis? If so, how and what are you eating?

hi yeh was diganosed dec 10 so stopped all sugar and started eating more healthy. it`s the natural sugars i think that is the problem, so spoke to dietician today as to the way forward so again if i can get it right it will come down goin to take time i think :(

Lots of us have discovered that it isn't just the sugars but all the carbs. I have seriously cut out as much of the starchy carbs as I can so have not been eating bread, potatoes, rice, pasta etc. Porridge has been my biggest sacrifice but I have managed to get my levels right down.

I eat fish, meat, cheeese and eggs with salad stuff, veggies ( holding back on the roots) and certain fruits with nuts and seeds and I use a carb counter book to help with the food choices. It works! It would be worth you trying this and testing to see how your food affects your own levels.

Your HBa1c is an average taken over the last three months, so still includes one month before diagnosis, but with the meds you are on if you had cut your carbs more then the result probably would have been lower.
