I am now where i want to be regarding bg levels and target weight but I'm a little worried where i go from here. Do I start adding more carbs to arrest weight loss? Can i cut back on testing?

I would suggest you to add fat to stop weight loss unless you think you have any other problem/condition.
Testing is entirely upto you, I tested about 10 to 15 times a day earlier when I was diagnosed, now that I eat low carb and I roughly know what will suit me and what would not I only test 3 times, fasting before dinner and after dinner just to get an idea. If i have anything high carb I definitely test 1 2 and 3 hours.

What is your BMI just out of curiosity.

If I was you, I would add some extra fat to stop weight loss if you are doing LCHF, it is a very hard balance to find, but again I would say check with the doc as I dont know if you have any other problems.
If your a1c's are on target and all you need is to stop the weight loss I would do this only for now.

Well done on reaching your goals!

If your BG levels are where you want them, it might be worthwhile thinking about stopping the metformin as it can cause unwanted weight loss in some people.

I Actually wanted to mention that too, speak to your doc to reduce metformin but I find in UK docs love mets so they want us to take it whether or not we need it :)
But what indy is saying is right, met does help you reduce weight.

thanks for the advice both of you, I have docs appointment next week so I will discuss meds though i do remember reading somewhere that metformin was found to help with other problems, not sure
