Hi, just wondered if anyone diagnosed with type 1 have had tattoo’s
Thanks, contemplating getting one but unsure if it’s risky or not.

I had my first tattoo 4 and a half years ago. i have been type 1 since august 1972.
i experienced no issues with healing and i am really pleased with the outcome

I have 10 and a half tattoos no probs experienced what I will say is they are addictive so it might not only be 1

Not a type 1 .A type 2 Thinking of getting my first
As a 74th birthday present. Have to really think
Hard what design to get as they aren't that
easy to get off are they.

Talk about bad luck!
At least the new leg looks as cool as a tattoo, and it was more expensive too!

yeah I think it looks cool I get many people stopping me it’s amazing how prosthetics have advanced ,
same can be said for tattoos the artistry these days is amazing

Became T1D 11/2021 got these in 08/22 with no problems

I have 6 (soon to be 7) most were done when I had very poor control and maybe 1-2 were done when I had excellent control. I was always told just make sure to have as good control as you can manage and make sure you follow the tattoo artists aftercare instructions and you should be fine. All mine have healed completely fine
