Hi Vick. I had my first tattoo done last week. I didn't take any letters or anything from my GP, I didn't even tell the tattooist I was diabetic. My BGs are in control and were still good after. I've had no pain or soreness and its now fully healed a week after having it done. I'd recommend buying a nappy rash cream called bepanthen, it's very good and helps with the healing. Good luck NicolaHi guys, I'm not sure if this has been covered already, but I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo and wondered whether I'll have to have a note from my GP to take along to show I have good enough control of my BG before I have it done?
Will be grateful of any advice, thanks!
,Great, thanks everyone. Was a little worried about the healing of it NicolaB70! Will definitely look at getting some of that cream!
I already have an idea for another one, but daren't tell the husband...!
What did you have done and how did you find it?Had my tattoo done today! BG levels were spot on all the way through, but currently have a 17.9!do levels usually come down later that day or did you guys find it was the following day etc?
That sounds great. My son had a small storm troopers (Star Wars) head on his inner wrist and he said that was painful compared to the others he has had done. We found though that the sooner we took off the cling film and washed tattoo, it didn't sting as much through sweating in the cling film. Mine has healed lovely and I had no problems what so ever with it healing.I've had a profile of Mickey Mouse's head put on my inner wrist. I'll post a pic when I've taken off the cling film! Lol it was pretty painless really, I'd say inserting a cannula over bone hurts a hell of a lot more! Lol
