Does tea and coffee have any effect on GB levels... ie raise them...I have never thought about that before as I never take into consideration what I drink in a day I am still only prediabetic but have been monitoring my BG..sure my doctor would not approve of me doing that
My usual daily consumption is one cup of coffee mid morning and about 3 to 4 cups of Red Bush tea the rest of the day all with skimmed milk and no sugar or sweetner. If I am thirsty beween cups of tea.. which is not often.. I would drink water. I don't drink any canned or bottled drinks the no sugar ones with artificial sweetener are much to sweet for my taste

You shouldnt have any problems with that amount of tea and coffee but you could check the amount of carbs in the milk as skimmed has more carbs than full fat milk and if you are not controlling calories whole milk is better for you as it contains more calcium

That should have been that I have semi skimmed milk not skimmed. I have got raised cholesterol so probably whole milk would not be a good idea

Have you thought about trying soya milk? I now have Alpro soya light in my tea (you find it in the same cabinet as fresh milk), soya is supposed to be good for cholesterol, its only 0.1g carbs per 100ml as opposed to 5g per 100 ml for semi skimmed. Every little helps! also doesn't taste too bad - to me anyway. (Cream in my coffee as I LCHF )

I drink coffee first thing in the morning and then redbush tea all day but I don't have milk or cream in either. That and lots of water although I find the redbush tea easier to drink in the winter as the water is so cold.
