Hi,

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but I'm really poorly at the moment and can't think quite straight! I've got a sickness bug and a chest infection, so my sugars are running really high. I'm correcting but need a tbr too to try and stop the spikes. What's a good starting tbr to try? My bloods hit 32 last night :(

Thanks in advance

Are you correcting via pump or pens? Have you been checking for ketones? I was ill over the weekend and on Friday put my tbr straight up to 200%

I wouldnt do 200% - it would kill me.

Start with 30% if I were you, increase it every 4 hours if its not doing the trick add more if your not seeing any improvment. what kinds of TBR do you normally do?

When ill, i start with 120-130%. On a few occasions I have needed my pump to be on 200% though, so this increase needed at times. When I was on 200% my corrections were done via pen to get my blood sugars down quicker. Check for ketones if sugars are that high and you're ill.

I start with +30% to +50% and run that for around 4 hrs, if BG is still going up I bump it another +50%, and so on.
