HbA1c has gone from 68 to 29
That is a magnificent HbA1c drop. Well done!!Great weight loss, too.
Your total cholesterol is meaningless - what were you lipids? HDL, LDL and triglycerides? It is the HDL (good stuff) and triglycerides (bad stuff) that matter. If you don't know the breakdown, then you ought to find out. (a print out of your test results will show these).
Did you fast for the test? If not, your triglycerides may be artificially high.
Many people experience raised cholesterol when losing weight - it is normal.
Cutting out fats won't help. Increasing your omega 3 will.

hi I just got my blood test results today after being diagnosed at the end of December .my HbA1c has gone from 68 to 29 . Iv been following a low carb diet and exerciseing I have lost 2:5 stones. My cholesterol is 6 though and I’m feeling stuck ! I try not to eat to much fat I have milk in coffee , use butter but not much as I’m obviously not having bread eat . I eat nuts I have cheese not very often though . I have bacon and eat eggs ,more boiled than anything . if I had to stop any of this I don’t know what I’d eat I eat lots of salad ,Veges too .
Thank you , your numbers are amazing ! I hope mine stay as good down the line .Brilliant well done.
My total cholesterol number went up and first when I went Low Carb and lost weight, but soon went back down again.
I'm no expert, but I think it is a normal process as your body sorts itself out.
Well that’s the test but it’s not like I’m dieting I’m making changes to stay healthy. I
Thanns @ziggy-w xAbsolutely brilliant results, @LynnieG33. Your hard work definitely paid off.
I echo what @Bluetit1802 and @britishpub have said -- I wouldn't worry about raised cholesterol level. IMO, 6 isn't really scarily high and is probably caused by the weight loss. More importantly though -- when low-carbing, HDL usually goes up and trigs go down (which is a good thing).
