just moved from Girvan to Airdrie to be told by new doctor that they dont issue test strips or lancets in this area cost cutting by NHS strange considering my blood sugar levels been as high as 29.9 even now no lower than 8.1
Best advice is to argue that you need to test your blood to see what the foods you eat are doing to your blood sugar levels so that you can bring down the levels. Buy yourself a meter and show the doctor the results of you testing before meals and 2 hours after meals, keep a food diary to show the effect of the foods on your BG levels. If you can convince the doctor that you are very proactive in your own diabetes management and diet then maybe you may get them prescribed.
Other than that you may have to buy them yourself !
