Have been diagnosed with type 2 for 5 or 6 years now and have tested my blood sugar a few times a week. When I went to my diabetic clinic last time the nurse told me that as I am taking Metformin and having regular diabetic checks I no longer need to self test. Has anyone else been told this ?

Just about everyone has been told something similar and most of us take no notice and carry on testing anyway. How else are you supposed to know what is going on.
