Testing or not

Messages

Hi, diagnosed Type 2 3 years ago, my nurse says I have not yet managed good control, last test was 7.2 which I have been told by another doctor is not too bad.

Very confused about when to test and what levels to look for. My nurse has told me not not to test at all as she says it won't help me, only to use diastix but these seem too inaccurate - help totally confused!! :D

Thanks for that, any advice is most welcome, I hoped I would have it sussed by now but I think it has taken me a long time (3 years) to realise what a life changing experience this would be, I did get it sorted at first and lost 6 1/2 stone in the first two years but after being given lots of conflicting advice I am totally confused about what I should and should not eat test or not test etc.

Anyway I will battle on and keep smiling - :D :D :D :D

Self testing can enable you too see what foods too avoid and what foods not too, it has helped me eliminate certain foods - in my case, a considerable amount of tomatoes in my diet has been gotten rid of due too spike a large amount makes in my BG, however if it helps do it.
