I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am taking 500mg Metaformin and40mg Glicazide twice a day. My diabetic nurse gave me a testing meter and said I did not need to test every day. surely I have to test more than this?

I am in a slightly worse state than you. I was given a meter and the test strips were stopped. As to your question, in my opinion you should be testing more than your nurse advises. You should be using your meter to track down the foods that raise your blood sugar to an unacceptable level, however often that needs.
