You should only test when you need the information (the result) to influence your choices. So before and 2 hours after meal testing is useful for learning which foods to eat or avoid. I wouldn't do other tests every day if you're trying to conserve strips. Every second day or once a week is probably fine, IMO. Can I ask which brand of meter you have?

Hi. I wouldn't worry about the fasting test as it's results tell you little. Even the nightime test isn't of much value. Yes, test 2 hours after a meal and also just before if you can afford the strips.
