Hi there. 57. Chap. recent type 2, coping without medication currently - blah blah. Has anyone else heard about the possible relationship between DB2 and low testosterone production in ageing grumpies like me? I'd been feeling pretty below par for the last couple of years (probably when the DB was kicking in) - tired too often - less bullish - less of an eye for the ladies (ding-dong) - occasional troubles with percy standing to attention too. Worse still I've taking an interest in flowers and crying at films - YUCH. So, I was discussing the above and my disappearing muscle mass, with my osteopath (we're quite good mates) and he said I was suffering all the symptoms of low testosterone. He also said a couple of his patients were on it and that one of them was coincidentally was DB2. Could they be connected :?: So I typed "Testosterone and Diabetes" to google. There are quite a few articles which seem to be independant of the dreaded drug companies which indicate that there may. There definitely seems to be a correlation with insulin efficiency and low testosterone. So, deep breath - I went to my GP (also quite a mate) and gave him the old angst routine. He was dismissive at first and there seems to be a huge reluctance within the medical profession in general to get involved with what they see as a 'lifestyle drug'. Anyway I think the muscle mass issue swung it and I now have a repeat prescription for Testogel. Sachet 1 was applied about an hour ago - tally-ho, lock up your daughters etc. Only joking. I actually took 1/2 the sachet - there can be side effects so I'll see what that does.I will keep the post updated, but I mainly would be interested if any fellow sufferers could inform the debate.
