Does anyone have any ideas about why Thai dishes eaten out that oughtn't to contain much carbohydrate in fact do? This happens over and over again. I'm not talking about noodle or rice dishes. Soups, and green/red or other curries of meat and non-starchy veg that ought to have a carb content of 5 to 10 grams a serving.
Last week, I had chicken, broccoli, carrots, cilantro (coriander) and snow peas with a "thick garlic sauce" followed by one of the worst spikes I've had. So glad I didn't eat any of the brown rice. It was delicious, but probably shouldn't have Thai food anymore.
Hi LucySW
most restaurants use extra sugar , salt , oils , , spices to flavour dishes compared to what we do at home.
it is a right pain in the a** but is also a fact of life.
I always take nearly double the dose of novorapid for a meal out compared to home
in the end it is just getting used to what they do and whether you want to take part in the lifestyle of eating out
