I just want to take a moment to say thank you to the people on this board. The ones who are here all the time, offering advice, encouraging people.

My hba1c was creeping back up and I decided to try low carb after reading the posts and the replies on here. I spent a couple of weeks researching it as I really didnt thinkI would be able to do it as I do love carbs so so so much.

Well I decided to give it a go, encouraged by the people here.

I have been and got my results today and my hba1c has dropped from 8.5 to 7.2 in 3 months, notonly that but my triglycerides have dropped from 3.1 (3.6 at diagnosis) to 1.2. My weight has dropped by about 1 stone (without trying to lose weight). my total cholesterol has dropped from 5.4 to 4.7 (eating more fat and full fat stuff), and my BP has gone from 140/85 to 120/75.

So huge thankyou, and keep the good ideas/info coming, you have helped me a great deal.

I couldnt have done it without the people here. heres hoping I am able to carry it on long term, over 40 yrs of high carb eating compared to 3 months low carbing.

But I feel great on it and people are now starting to tell me how well I am looking lately.

Well done Mrs. Marigold. I'm type 2, no testing. My last check 3 months ago at clinic was 7.3 and I got a rollicking. I've tried to go low carb but the omelettes make me feel sick and If I don't eat carbs I am always always hungry. I really don't know what to do now.
