I must say a big thank you to you all, after reading these forumns for months and months and adding my own bit of "I feel sorrry for myself - help" treads, I think today is the day after 30+ I need to start looking after myself.

My plan

Eat as low carb as possible

Go cold turkey on rubbish food I eat - choc, cakes, biscuits etc

Drink more water

Try to have a small walk each day - build this up gradually

Speak to Dr about decreasing my "happy pills" as I am on a massive dose and have been for years - hey have numbed any enthusiam I used to have for life

It will be hard, but I will pesevere.

My aim is to lose 5 stone, get beter BS results and to stop feeling so bloody unwell and tired all the time.
 
Hi NicNak, glad to hear you are working at getting things on track. As well as changing your eating habits and exercise, make sure to take some time for yourself as well. I started low carbing at the beginning of the year. In hindsight I think the main thing that stopped me grazing too much was putting in a lot of time at my piano. For lots of us food becomes a cure for boredom, I certainly find a big desire to eat if I am just sitting around at home. Taking up or extending an activity/talent/hobby or joining some form of social group may help take your mind off the foods you have blacklisted.
