I started diet 3 weeks ago against the advice of my diabetes specialist, although she has agreed to monitor test my bloods etcetera in 8 weeks. I am type 2 on insulin and have lost 13 pounds which is fantastic. My glucose readings have dropped significantly and I have reduced the medication considerably. On a good day I have not required any insulin as readings between 5.4 -7.0. On a no insulin day it is great freedom not having to worry about typos. I have also noticed a reduction in blood pressure .On the down side ketosis is meant to be a problem and the change from poor control to good control may initially have a detrimental effect if you have retinopathy problems so I am told. But I am going to stick with it as at the moment t feel great
