Type 1 the flu

hi everyone,
this may seem a stupid question but ive had the flu since friday last week and the doctor said my chest seemed clear but recently i have been find it hard to breathe. i dont know whether im getting worse or better. my blood sugars have been low but i have had keatones which i am not understanding. i thought keatones happened when you bs levels were to high?
any advice would be much appreciated!

I understand you may get ketones with low BG if you are not eating.
Ketones are caused by your body getting energy from something apart from sugar. If you are not eating enough carbs, you may get ketones.

Someone on a low carb diet may be able to confirm this.
 
Is that 0.4 or 4.0? Helen is right, if you arent eating a lot or being sick you start to use the fat stored in your body and that can cause ketones.

Dafne is a course and you learn about ketones/sick day rules.
