Hej! So what's his take then? Since lots of veg have some carb and yoghurt too what do you eat? Please would you give some examples? I have some recipes (new ones) which I want to try out. If they're ok, do you want them? XI'm on a very strict Skaldeman version of LCHF at the moment aiming at less than 10 g carbs, all included and all berries are tricky, but when I buy organic or almost organic I freeze them whole without any sweetener on a tray (making sure they are completely dry, then I can treat my self with one or two and let them melt slowly in glass of water.

As milk doesn't rise my BS, I have been drinking it quite freely. If I follow the 4 corners diet, though, I have to stop. But why can I have cream in my coffee, but not milk? Is it the higher fat content?
Milk has upto 8% carbs by weight whereas cream has minimal carbs. Cream however has a lot of fat. If you can drink milk as a prediabetic and your intention is to lose weight more than reduce blood sugars, perhaps you could try just skimmed milk in coffee. I drink tea and that tastes awful with cream, though the Frisians seem to like it, so I use skimmed milk with tea. With porridge, I use a coconut milk substitute called Koko.
First, went rather strict when I started in August 2012 and lost 15 kilo (>2 stones) in a year then became more liberal and gained app 6 lbs and it's been tricky to loose these. Felt I needed to get my burning mode back and now I've done strict again for almost 3 weeks and have my weigh in day tomorrow, the two first weeks 3,5 lbs (had a couple of misshapes first week).
Skaldeman is about choosing all stuff less then 5 gram of carbs/100 gram, you can a little double cream, cheese (ideally without carbs) creme fraiche and full fat yoghurt, but remember that dairies can stall the weight lost. Focus on fat and moderate protein, eating less then 9 gram carbs per day - ALL carbs included. There's also a ratio where you add carbs and protein and compere - Ratio = Fat/(protein+carbs) should be at least 1 or higher. There's version where you for a shorter time do less then 5 gram of carbs per day.
Usually i have fat coffee for breakkie with coconut oil and butter, about 5 hours later a cup of coffee with 1 tsp coconut oil and 1 tbsp double cream, app 3 hours later my main meal 200-250 grams fish, meat or sea food, butter or a butter based sauce some vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, spinach or asparagus (all of these usually fried in butter or salad with a small amount or pepper, sometime later I have a piece of cheese. If snacking maybe some pork cracklings, prefer clean ones like awfully posh or make brie puffs from president brie in the microwave.
I'm deliberately stay away from yoghurt and most other dairies nuts and berries (maybe a few raspberries or a couple of strawberries once a week). I'll probably try to stay on this for 6-8 more weeks hoping to shred 1,5-2 stones.
Do your best Gudrun, whatever level works best for you, but consider doing very low for a short period or on occasion to get a higher fat burning. Maybe doing 16:8 could work for you, fasting 16 hours and have an eating window of 8 hours, mine is a semi-fast with the fat coffee in the morning.thanks, Modesty. Got an email today from Amazon that the book is on its way so will have a read of it next week. I don't think I can go as low with carbs as you do, but will have to experiment with dietdoctor and the Scandinavian diet (and others) to see what is best for me.
