Hi I'm Sarah 25 Years old, I suffer from diabetes since i was 9 years old.

My medicine is insulin 50 Pen fill. I'm suffering now that my blood sugar level is not fixed or even normal some times it's 240 or even 300 and other times 42 or 60.

I'm getting my insulin 3 times a day 1/2 an hour before every meal 22 in the morning, 30 in lunch time and 26 in dinner time.

I'm not eating much but I'm gaining Weight, I'm 162 Cm. and 82 Kg.
What should I do ????? Please advice me.

Regards.
Sarah

Those numbers seem very high. You need to talk to your medical team, but in the meantime, you could try reducing your carbohydrates, Cut out all sugar, natural as well as added. Cut down on starches,e.g. potatoes, rice, pasta, bread,
This should help.
Where in hte world are you?

Would cutting down on carbs not be dangerous? If she is on a fixed level of insulin and then cuts her carbs could she not suffer a hypo??

I would consult your consultant before altering diet first

Dear Brianb,

I'm not sure if I can go through diet because I feel like I want to make my blood sugar stable then I can go through diet.

If you got any more details about your Diabetes, so we can help each other.

Thanks .

If you are on afixed insulin dose, this would have taken your carb intake into account, so it would be wise to speak to your medical about making adjustments... Has to cut down on carbs could put you at high risk of a serious hypo..

It might be worth while asking about the basal/bolous regime, where you use separate long acting insulin to provide background cover, and short acting insulin to deal with the food you eat, as this is more suited to carb counting methods, as you adjust your short acting insulin to match the amount of carbs you have eaten..

Hope this helps
