The SCREAM thread

Thank you. I didn't know they can do that? I'll try.
They don't like to publicise it, but they will do it if you make enough of a fuss (or charm their secretary enough!).The way to find out the secretary's number is to get the name of the consultant and Google his/her private practice contact details (and they almost certainly will have one). Then you can either try and get a call back that way, or ask them to give you his NHS secretary's number.

I've spoken to the other consultants secretary who wrote the update for me. They will answer their phone so I'll call them after shopping tomorrow. I hate bothering people on a monday morning!
Thanks for keeping me right. and unscrambled.

I don't know what deity i ****** off but after sitting here without heater for nearly two weeks now i should've gotten a call to make an appointment to place a new heater. Turns out for the first time in 4 years my cell phone service was out today and i could not receive calls. And yes they did call me today.

It's 10 degrees Celsius indoors at the moment and not getting any warmer.

O
Oh no! Keep warm. Wrap up in loads of clothes and quilt. I dont suppose a neighbour can call someone who can give you more help? Thank god your wifi is working.

@Contralto I've ended up on asthma meds. I had a breathing test at my gp and now use a reliever and a steriod inhaler. Its greatly improved but not gone in walking. Much better than it was thou. Bisoprolol tablet can increase asthma symptoms. Info leaftet reluctant to say causes! I spoke to gp and my cardiologist might increase Bisoprolol as my heart beat is still way too fast. Seeing cardiologist on 7th. My left anterior descending artery has significant plague but not blocked 70-100% so no urgent op. Thank god.
How are you?

So nine days after Ron saw gp they have finally sent out a referral letter to the cardiology , not good enough. Our surgery is getting worse .

They are a disgrace! 9 days? What is the reason?
Is your gp admin so busy with their demanding patients? I thought it was done through the computer system?

I must admit I was lucky a&e sort my cardiologist for me. Seeing same one on the 7th too.

I hope he gets a friendly one too. I waited 4-6wks for appointment after tests.
GP can request heart tests too. Not just cardiologist but if gp doesn't understand results then no point, I guess.
Cardiologist will help Ron. Hugs to you both.

It's the same everytime Vicky. Whenever a referral is made by gp it takes a week or more for it to be done.

My gp receptionist does it as I'm standing there. GP gives me a slip he fills in for the receptionist to do.
All gps must be different?

My biorhythms must be playing up today - I am having the morning from hell! The OH's first words to me were, "What's the matter with you today?" and I wasn't aware at that point that there was anything the matter. So it seemed reasonable to bite his head off for asking.

I let the dog out for a wee and she just stood there on the lawn, staring at me. Then when I let her in again for her breakfast she wouldn't eat it but just stood there, staring at me again. Ordinarily she will mow a path through a herd of charging buffalo to get to her breakfast, but she clearly requires some form of formal invitation to eat it today - perhaps written in s*dding Swahili on Gisela Graham notepaper....?!!! Deep frustration.

I bought an expensive new bird feeder yesterday to stop the squirrels from eating all the peanuts (they have a feeder box of their own filled with peanuts, but of course they turn their noses up at that). The little songbirds don't want to know the new feeder at any price and are simply queueing up on the branch, viewing it with deep suspicion. A squirrel, on the other hand, has now dragged the new feeder off the tree and dumped it on the floor, so that all the peanuts have fallen out. The dog then decided to chase him (while she was out on the lawn again, not having a pee) and barged straight through the hedge, so I now have an enormous, labrador-shaped hole in my hedge. Oh, that's just lovely, that is.

And now I've just dropped a full box of eggs on the floor.

I'm going back to bed.
