I have to just say that I'm impressed at this type of forum and other types out there because when I was diagnosed there wasn't any such thing I was aware of. I was on my own for years with diabetes and didn't seek support from anyone other than my docs. I also find that the easy access to information has helped me to deal with my other health conditions... sometimes I'm able to provide information to my docs of new research, etc... they often say thank you and that they've not seen it, etc. So the internet certainly has its advantages. :) But with the wealth of information now available, it surely must be easier for people to make informed decisions about management of their health. Even now there isn't much support for some of the things I'm dealing with.... but I'm grateful for the little things. People tell me to seek support.... there is only so much support I can seek when I have trouble talking. As soon as people realise i have limitations, there is silence and ums and ahs. So you can see why I like the internet as it is my main form of communication. Have a good day all :)

Great post @Mep :)

Concur with what you've said above, the internet and the DOC has been a great resource over the last decade or so.
