The trials of collie ownership!

Our little BC has always had a thing about carrying her food/water bowl around the house!
Whilst she was in a small placcy bowl it was actually quite funny (shades of Oliver Twist : may I have some more?), and we moved her to a pair of 8 inch "Mason Cash" pottery bowls.
This morning i heard a dragging sound, and looked up to see a 6.5 l ceramic slow cooker bowl being carried into the hallway!(edit: 3.2 Kg empty!)
What next? a "Belfast Sink"?
 
How about Super Glue on her paws ?
 
Better than the habit ours had of rounding up unknown guests by nipping their ankles...
 
My wee border collie (sadly no longer after 14 years of pure joy) used to bring her tennis balls into the bedroom and dump them on my face to waken me up. Apart from that she was almost human lol
 
My first lab used to carry her dish around and thump it down at my feet when she thought it was meal time. She was a remarkably accurate time keeper. She never tried a slow cooker though.
 
Hope the RSPCA ain't watching lol...you could teach collies anything within reason, mines brought me my slobbery mobile phone lol
 
Obvious just joking, ive steered clear of them as a Pet, have had mainly Lab or Lab/German Shepard crosses.
I believe Collies they total destroy your garden if you have one ?
 
If they are bored they will dig and chew anything. Yes they require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. Too many people get one as they look cute but behind that furry ball lies a working dog. I put a lot of effort into my last dog and she was happy thinking she had a job to do chasing balls, ropey toys etc. I know Randburg you were jesting but I'd pay to see a tap dancing collie lol

Well, they'll destroy the lawn by chasing the springer spaniel around it all night after they've sneakily opened the back door when you've put them to bed... I know that much.
 
My hounds girl friend is a border collie .. She wrecks and eats everything while he lays on the sofa watching her ... She loves to visit
 
Mines used to steal my sister's Labrador's toys when we were leaving. She was such a sneak lol
 
We've got a Welsh / Border Collie cross. One of the differences between Welsh and Border collies is Welsh collies have a "loose" eye when herding so don't crouch down and stare at the flock, but rather bark at it to get it to do what it wants. You can guess what that means - she's inherited that part of the welsh collie and if she wants something she sits and looks at us and barks (very loudly!). For all that, she's the least dominant dog we've ever owned and is completely bossed around by our other dog (a Cavalier King Charles spaniel)

She's absolutely gorgeous though and a brilliant companion - highly intelligent and just wants to please (when she isn't barking). She also guarantees I get out for a decent walk twice a day: If she doesn't get a walk when she thinks she should have one she's hell on earth

We had a Bearded collie called Bentley for 12 years whilst the children were small and he was great to take over the park as he herded them up when it was time to leave. A great dog but as daft as a brush even used to sleep with the pet rabbit they were great friends .
