I went to my first diabetic clinic. They gave me a book, a flu jab and two further appointments. First to take a blood test and second for results and feet check. I also have a retina check booked. I felt she wanted to dish out pills but decided to review next time when I get the next blood results as I was diagnosed as a byproduct of a doctors appointment for a unrelated problem and I felt as I had drank half a bottle of dessert wine the evening before my blood was basically sugar! She said they would not supply a blood monitor but sort of shrugged when I said I would get my own. My results have varied, I take three tests a day, first thing, 2 hours after main meal of the day and last thing at night. Highest has been 12 last thing at night, lowest 3.2 (first thing).
The main up is I am losing weight on the low carb and feel a lot better about myself. The downs is denial due to the above and have to wait until December to convince myself I am type 2. Does anyone know if spiking and drops are experienced by people without diabetes?
