Ummm...we could live on coconut milk, goat milk, goat cheese, bounty bars (minus the chocolate coating!).... and make coconut oil in which to fry the fish we catch.... ready filleted of course! Fried cheese is nice too

To be fair, if you eat fish, you should be prepared to beat it to death against a hard surface, slit it open, scoop out it's innards, cook it until it's eyes turn milky and burst, and still enjoy the meal.
I do.

The head and tail have to removed before I eat it, in Portugal they serve the fish whole and it just puts me off eating it, I wouldn't want to eat a chicken with it's head on nor a lamb chop looking at the sheep head
 
I think you'd be better off grilling your fish over a hot fire. I don't think it's very easy to extract coconut oil without some sort of mechanical device.

NO!
Dispatch the creature quickly and efficiently! To kill for food is acceptable, to inflict unnecessary suffering is not IMHO!
 
Does anyone dress their own crabs, lobster, langoustine, if you don't do your own fish?
 
Another simple very fast curry recipe.

In a wok add a couple of chopped up leeks and sweat them down in a small amount of oil of your choosing (I use olive oil)

The idea is to end up with something that is relatively thick so you need to judge the liquid quantities accordingly.

Add coconut milk (I use Aldi)
Add curry paste or spices to taste (I add garam masala, ginger, coriander, turmeric and cumin)

Let this simmer.

Assuming the meat (chicken or turkey) is uncooked then blast it in a microwave to all but cook then slice up. Alternative cook the meat in a frying pan using a smidgeon of oil. Add some spices to the meat while its cooking for extra flavour.

Add the meat to the curry mixture in the wok

Add some double cream and plain yoghurt to taste.

Cook until the meat is done.

Serve in bowls with or without a small amount of rice depending on how low carb you want it.

No .... My ready dressed crabs came via the local fisheries officer who had connections (obviously), for a £1 each. Don't do lobster, and haven't eaten langoustine for years.
 
I deal with my own fish and do dress crab and lobster myself also, not that theres a lot needing doing with lobster or langoustine really.

What do you guys eat with the curry? LCHF so try and avoid rice and bread where poss. If I splash out occasionally and have rice (,pre diabetes Thai green king prawn with 1/2 portion of rice) will this be a bad idea if LCHF? Opinions please?
 
Cauliflower "rice", with cardamon pods & turmeric infused in.
delish!
