Theresa May and Diabetes.

Yes I applaud Theresa May on dealing with Diabetes but let's not forget she will have the best.care money can buy not from our badly under funded NHS. Bet she can afford the new Libre sensors at £50 for 14 days. What about all the other long term Diabetics. Who have had to manage for years. Myself and my daughter have had type 1 diabetes for 47 yrs. In the beginning with nothing like we have now to aid us. Both worked and I retired at 69yrs two years ago and thankfully no bad complications as yet. So yes good on you Theresa May but spare a thought for us poor uncomplaining menials. !!!!!

Regardless of my political stance and who I think should and should not run the country I have no problem with the prime minister (not talking about all MPs here) getting the best of health care - it's a mega stressful role and I would like the person with their finger on the button to be in the best health possible.
 
Regardless of my political stance too, I just wish people would leave the woman alone as regards her diabetes. She is a late onset T1 and said recently in an interview that she injects 4 or 5 times a day and tests her own blood sugar levels frequently. Is this any different to any other insulin users? No, it isn't. No matter how much money she may have, or how good her care is, she remains diabetic and always will be, with all the worries and problems it may bring. She is no different from the rest of us in that respect. Perhaps some could take a leaf out of her book, stop moaning about this condition, and get on with life.
