The amount of ill feeling on here is very saddening, I don't understand why people get so precious. If you don't like someones post, ignore it. If you don't want someones advice don't take it on board.

Anyway I think it's much more pleasant experience just to hang out in the low carb board. That's not to say that I don't think other people's approaches are valid but just that the low carb approach has done amazing things for me already and I don't want to spend my time defending my choice.

I'm not sure what the low carb hidden agenda is, no one has told me yet! But at least when I offer advice it's based on the willingness to help people not because I think I'm gonna pop my clogs soon and so not bothered about potential complications as one well known non-low carber posted on one of my threads. Ho hum

hi doczoc,
I must admit that i have found the low carb route very helpful! Have not been able to find low carb bread! Must be looking in the wrong places!

Off topic - but from your post

I eat only low carb bread which I bake about every 8 or 9 days using Fergus' recipe. The recipe used to be posted on this forum but he removed it. I do not know why but maybe a pm to fergus will give you the recipe. I find it very good.

On topic - I can not see why there is any conflict about low-carbing or low-alcoholing or low-anything else.

As others have pointed out it is very useful to newly diagnosed members of the 'diabetic cllub' to have suggestions from the more experienced members of what MIGHT work and HAS WORKED for some people.

Personally the reduction of carbs in my diet has worked in reducing my insulin requirements and improved my BG control after 5 years of increasing BG and increasing medication while following the NHS high carb, low fat advice.

My adopted daughter also has found that reducing carbs has had the same effect on her BG when medication did not.

I feel that we are both lucky that this approach to our condition is working for us and would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who have advocated low-carbing on this forum as without the help I found here I would have been injecting more and more insulin on a daily basis.

Thanks to everyone for the help

Phil

EXACTLY!

However some people are concerned only to manipulate others. Even though they now have their own forum.

What is hard to understand about "diabetes is a disorder of carbohydrate metabolism"?
