Hi,

I learnt how to make Alexa apps and I am thinking of making an alexa app that can read your Dexcom info.
The idea is- instead of searching for your Dexcom, you can just ask Alexa .

I want to ask-

1) Does anyone think if this is useful? Will you use it?
2) Do you need multiple people support ? Or is there one diabetic in your family?

You will have to give your dexcom share login info to the app.

If this post gathers interest i'll make the app. In that case, I'll appreciate 1-2 dexcom share logins to test.

I'll keep the app free probably (unless Amazon wants to start charging me outside of the free tier).

It already exist and I am using it. You use Nightscout and make the skill yourself. Its a little complicated so if you fancy working on a direct Dexcom share app that would be amazing. I have actually made my app to activate on "ask Dexcom for and update to Ask Dexcom for my readings...etc I have added many variants.

Heres the one I currently use: https://github.com/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor/blob/master/lib/plugins/alexa-plugin.md

So to your questions:
1) I would love a direct dexcom share app rather than through Nightscout, although I personally am happy staying with the setup I currently have as it took me a fair bit to get it sorted.
2) Only one Diabetic in my house, but it could be good to say "Ask Dexcom for Malcom's levels" or similar if you have multiple diabetics.

Keep us updated :)
