Two years ago I had woken at 3.30am with chest pains, thinking it was my hiatus hernia playing up I spent all day till 3pm taking anti acids to no avail.
It was not until I called the out of hours Dr and was asked to come in for an ECG, was it found that I had been walking around all day with a heart attack.
But am still here 2 years later

I know this is not Diabetes related but wanted to share my second annisversary of surviving my heart attack with you all

Also it has been two years today that I quit smoking, 3.30pm was my last ciggi

Hi Suffolkboi

You are still here and in better shape than ever according to your weight meter. Keep going and the numbers will drop more and more. 8)

Hi Suffolkboi,

Pleased you came out the other end and lived to tell the tale. I would imagine that cause you being ex-military, you were a very strong person both mentally and physically, which would have undoubtedly helped you through this ordeal.

Best wishes

Nigel

In theory.

Well done you! I know from my Brother how hard it is to stop.

It seems to be a sad fact that no amount of coersion will make people give up smoking until they make their minds up to do it themselves! my father died from smoking related illness almost exactly six years ago to the day, and whilst dying in hospital, the nurses kept telling my brothers who all smoked to give up or that would be them. in the last three months two of them have had massive heart attacks....and haven't smoked a cigarette since. horrible way to come to that decision but hopefully will see them living longer
