Just remembered that I haven't taken my meds tonight before my tea because I'm not having any tea tonight. Gonna let the B S levels go down to normal first.@poshtotty OK another stabbing at 7:10pm = 7.2

To be honest I don't feel like anything. I'm still full after that dinner, in fact just to prove this point I'm trying to make to the dietician, i actually had to force the last part of the dinner down.Eating might help. I'm 7.1 two hours after cauliflower cheese and salad. Phew!
I can manage a small amount as well which I have either on toast or with bacon and eggs.i can manage a 1/3 can of beans with bacon and egg without much of a rise in B S.
See you got there in the end!!!@poshtotty 20:20pm = 6.7
Kat. there's already potatoes in the dish. and If bluetit is correct, with the bread, it does look like that's another 10+ carbs on top. How many type 2's could cope with that ( If I'm incorrect please say so) on diet alone or with some meds. Sausage casserole is a heart warming and tasty dish, but I would swap the beans and potatoes, for veg like broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and/or green beans ?
Gosh it's making me hungry now

Yeah but I've had to do without tea tonight and don't really want to eat anything tonight anyway because I'm still full. Tomorrow I just need something light as I've got Cardiac rehab at 10.00am so don't want breakfast bouncing up and down while I'm on the treadmill and bikeSee you got there in the end!!!
Yeah but did you have some tea? I haven't.Yay! That's better than me, I hate you!
I'm sure you know the answers to her points @poshtotty , plenty of fibre and roughage in green veg, yes non-diabetics do get spikes but if you have significant ones continually that's hardly likely to help your HbA1c in the longer term.
A very low carb way of eating, look on Amazon for the book, written by a chap called Bernstein. What's Bernstein?
Cheers Ali H, will take a look.A very low carb way of eating, look on Amazon for the book, written by a chap called Bernstein.

Got up this morning and after washing hands thoroughly, did the finger prick................8.0. Then because I have Cardiac rehab exercises at 10am, I've had a small banana for breakfast. Hoping to be around the bottom 6's when I get back.Impressive!
I bow to your better judgement. Sweet dreams
Thanks for the links Collie boy
Yes it would. I'm good at coming down quickly, but I prefer to be down at 2 hours, and that 12 was a 2 hour reading. but I was 5.2 before next meal Phew!
