Is it possible for something to have gone wrong with my bedtime injection? I did an airshot to test it and it felt ok but this morning my figures are much higher than normal. Considering I usually have roughly the same thing for breakfast and lunch Tues - Friday not sure why this morning I was 9.7 at breakfast (this only normally happens when I go the the gym first thing) and now before lunch I am ....10 (the highest I have been for sometime) Usually week day lunch time I am around 4 to 6 range depending on if I have been to the gym. I have given myself a couple extra units to hopefully correct this (not an expert on adjusting as yet to do the course - but have been encouraged to experiment a bit with this by my nurse) but am just a bit puzzled as to why this has happened :?

I haven't done anything different so not sure what is going on. :?: Why is it when things like this happen and you can't find a reason you feel so disappointed! I don't mind if I know I am too blame.

Thanks

Louise

Thanks SarahQ, sorry for all my questions - just when I think I kind of know what I am doing it all goes pearshaped!

Hadn't thought about the curse - it hasn't really affected me for the last 2 so had assumed it wouldn't.

I suppose it could be the honeymoon ending - I had forgotten about that - I will keep track over the next couple of days. How long does the honeymoon generally last?

TROUBR, I know what you mean about feeling disappointed when things go pear-shaped and you don't know why. Sometimes I think we can't pinpoint WHY blood sugars act as they do, frustrating as that is. Sarh's point about B.S. rising at certain times of the month is a very valid one. It took me months to suss out why my figures would jump up at certain times, 'cause iwas looking at my food and thinking 'd gone wrong there somewhere. I find my B.S. can be greatly affected by the weather too. If I'm too hot I can go shooting down or shooting up and this also seems to happen if I'm very stressed over something.I have also wondered if the site of injecting can affect B.S. levels. For some odd reason if I inject into my bum, my readings are worse than if I injectinto my stomach.
My best day-to-day readings were shortly after diagnosis and "now" (since cutting down on carbs and portion sizes).
You are probably not to blame for a one-off raised B.S.reading but I so understand you feeling that way.

Ahhh

Insulin always works the fastest being injected in the stomach, the arms next, then the legs and the bum last of all.
