Treatment type
I do not have diabetes
HI Everyone, We've been contacted by This Morning:

We are after some help for a cookery item we are doing on the show tomorrow.

We are after someone who has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the last year to 18 months. They need to be between 30-50 and have had to have a change in their lifestyle.

It would be to try some special food that our chef Phil Vickery will be preparing.

Any help you could give would be really appreciated.

If anyone would like to be involved PM me or email dan @ diabetes.co.uk asap

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan,

The requirements do suggest that the producers know little about diabetes. Something like 90% of diabetes diagnoses are type-2 but 80% of these are aged 50+. Not for nothing is it described as late onset!

well i am not staring 50 in the face for a few years yet so there are a few youngsters (ha) around, though i felt like an old lady before diagnosis

why do all these tv things want something at the last minute? no time to do nails hair teeth etc :!:

Dont they give you a makeover????

cavelioness i am sure in my case they would need to pre plan

no only kidding, i just think these things don't just appear they plan articles and things, or maybe they had nothing else to do

or they think we all sit around all day eating biscuits or pining for them (not i)

...if only I wasn't working tomorrow.

I would love to be the one who declines to eat what Phil has made because it's too high carb.

should we send Fergus in with his now (in)famous shoes? regardless of not fitting their criteria!!

an opportunity to bleat on about reduced carbing on national telly!!

oh my gawd, just re-read the post, they want somebody to actually go down to studio TOMORROW ... duh ... sorry ... anyone work in the area, could take an hour off, perhaps, but not sure how anyone outside of the city would be able to drop everything (work, kids, schooling) to run there ... free hairdo or not

I really hope somebody manages to go - will be working in the shop tomorrow so no chance to watch it ... good luck

****, right age, newly diagnosed but wrong type!

Mind you I work for the other side so I doubt if I would be allowed to anyway! Will be watching though...... he mentioned ages ago that he would be doing something for diabetics - if gluten free one was quite good the other day.

Did anyone apply? If so who will we be seeing, it would be nice to put a face to the name?

Louise

Wot no Phil Vickery. I was hoping for a bundle of recipes.....all I got was a slurring Kerry Katona and a type 2 discussion.
