This xmas are you going to eat xmas pudding and mince pies, I eat them now and my blood sugar hardly goes over 7 after 2 hours,
I sometimes wonder whether I have type 2 or not,my wife who is non diabetic tested for curiosoty and was 7.5 when mine was 6.3
after both eating the same thing atthat meal

I certainly am and everything else!! Im on insulin so can cover what I eat. Theres no way I could go through Christmas with not eating these things!

I'm type 1 and I did like the odd mince or a small piece of christmas pudding ( yummy) but now I have Coeliac Disease as well, I feel as though christmas may be giving me a wide berth this year RRB

I made a Christmas pudding with slightly reduced carbs. I substituted some Gram flour for the crumbs I have in my recipe, omitted sugar and put in a little Stevia and substituted some ofthe dried grapes type fruit with apricots and cranberries. I added an extra egg to support the structure. I shall have a SMALL portion with cream.

Nope don't like either and find them both too sweet.

But... I'll have some ice cream and trifle as a substitute

Yes, I've made my own. Microwaves work really well for Christmas Pudding, saves hours of steaming. I'll check my blood sugar as usual during the day and have an extra couple of units if I overindulge.
