Thorn in ancle

My husband is type 2 diabetic 2 weeks ago he had thorn go in ancle doc put him on antibiotics
but no improvement after 1 week send him for x ray . Can you tell him what they will do if
they find the thorn still in there. His ancle is swollen and inflamed. thankyou Janice Day
 
You would be better discussing this with doctor.However thorns have a way of working themselves to the surface and can then be more easily removed.Otherwise doctor may remove it.
 
Get to the podiatrist. A diabetic can self-refer. It's a thorn in his foot that put my husband into hospital last week and on IV antibiotics. took a podiatrist to find and remove it. He's a T1 and what it did to his Bg is terrifying.
