This is for all members to chat about during the week .

The thought can be a seasonal thought, topical current thought, family and pets thoughts,
lateral thoughts, humourous thoughts, quote of the week...

It can be used to inspire , encourage , see engaged humour , assist and support too .

To chat about 'other things' can also be refreshing .
 
My Gran always used to say "never let the sun go down on your wrath" it's actually a quote from the Bible and is so true, kiss or shake hands and make up before bedtime -you could regret it the next day if you don't!
 
Seasonal thoughts, eh? I'm going to the German Market in Birmingham this weekend. Getting in the Christmas spirit early, woohoo!
 
I had an old but wise uncle who had a favourite little saying:-

'Every day is a day of joy', and I tend to agree with him when I see how some suffer in other countries while I am here in the relative safety of England :thumbup: :clap:

Hi just to add to that a quote from Phyllis Diller :- never go to bed mad, stay up and fight :lol:

On the christmassey feel, my D and I are off to another christmas fayre tomorrow, I love going to these, so festive and in a good cause as well :thumbup: RRB

We're off to help out with one tomorrow. We help with a smallish local youth centre where those who are interested can call in evenings (when open ) for a coffee etc and a natter, but the local council wont even help out with a rate reduction or a few bob in the tin. . . . anyway, tomorrow we have a table top sale and hope its going to be dry enough for a good turn out :thumbup:

Ooooh christmas fayre's and markets have a rosy festive appeal about them.
Remember went to one in york 3years ago, we wandered around sampling all christmassy sorts
listening to a merry band and choir playing all the xmas hymns and tunes.
Guzzling cups of mulled wine too... [good job we used a coach trip!]
You have put me in the festive mood and hunt now .
Wonderful - will check out my local area for any happening and go with my hubby

RRB and your daughter , Be Lucky 'Again' :wink:

The early rain had stopped by nine and the sun came out just as our table top sale opened its doors. It was well attended and by the time the doors closed at one, much had been sold
As we left the cleaning volunteers were well under way ready for the next letting at two, and a rough estimate showed at least £150 clear will have been made directly, with a lot more to come from table levies and the nominal 20p entry charge plus some generous donations. It was so packed at one point we even considered stopping further entry, but we coped and by noon with much sold, the centre emptied as if by magic :thumbup:
 
Hi we had a brilliant time, bought lots of bits and pieces including a small brown old fashioned clock with radio( I'm thinking of dome shaped, 1940's?) for my dad and also one of those singing fish for him as well, second hand :lol: , I had a cup of coffee with my friend Jo and watched her eat a lovely strawberry cheesecake with cream..................50p

No winnings today, I had a go at name the bear and my choice was Bambi, but the name was Olivia. Lots of chrismassy songs and it was so warm and friendly. I'm going to have find another one for next week

My thought for today is a poem my D has to do for her homework, The Poor Peasant by William Langland. Utter dispair for poor people in those times, it must of been a waking nightmare.

We really, really do not know how lucky we really are in the 21st century.

A quote I absolutely love at the moment is "In uncertainty find infinite possibility".

It's one I'm hanging onto very tightly at the moment.

On a note totally unrelated to that, my cat is being adorable at the moment. She's curled up in what I call "proper cat pose" (all paws tucked in with her tail around her) on the top of the sofa and every so often just pokes the tip of her tongue out.
It's hard to stay annoyed with her constantly jumping up at the TV when she does that.... :roll:

My dad is unwell again, and my thoughts today were, what if my elderly dad isn't around :cry: , he has just got over his 3rd chest infection and he just isn't himself, not wanting to eat anything and telling me he just doesn't feel 'right' but has no pain anywhere, but keeps falling asleep.

Just feeling as though something is gonna happen...............

Thank you guys, what you have said has really comforted me. My thoughts this week are I'm thinking about mental health issues. There are changes and something is wrong. I wrote to his doctor voicing my concerns, but she is on holiday this week. I then telephoned Adult Social Services ( as my dad has been in hospital twice recently and he STill hasn't been given a case worker yet) :x

Trudging around the shops - my thoughts are turning fast to
the oncoming xmas madness .
Its getting harder to find a car parking space in
most car parks already!!!! :shock:
