Lol I have that too plus lactose intolerantThank goodness I dont suffer with Addisons. Diabetes and Coeliac disease is enough to contend with
It's a known fact you do not follow up with slow carbs whilst using a pump.
Rule of 15 is treat wait 15 mins then if no rise or dropping then treat again with quick acting carbs. Using slow carbs will only slow the absorption of the quick acting.
Addisons is the pituitary/adrenal gland at the back of head ?Thank goodness I dont suffer with Addisons. Diabetes and Coeliac disease is enough to contend with

Crikey. I do differently to everyone!!
If in 3's I have 3 maomi pinballs as my hypostoppers.
If under 3 them I have 5 of them. Only once caught out when I was sick pre xmas after a huge bolus and even with glucogel could not stop myself sinking but knew I was going to be in trouble so got hubby to call paramedics as I've never had to have an injection from partner I gave up on getting one of these years ago as they just went out of date.
If I've had any bolus within 5 hours I will eat 1 or 2 rich tea biscuit if in the house or something up to 10g carb only if I'm below 3.
I think its all individual to be honest. We all have differing physical activity stress etc and a carte blanche from a consultant saying to eat xx is the consultant trying to help but not necessarily understanding specifics about yourself. I think they are more worried, rightly so, that you get out and stay out of hypoland...
Cheapest way to get the equivalent of glocogel/hypo stop is to go to the cake dept of any super market and buy a tube of liquid glucose. It also tastes better and just over £1 a tube where as glucogel costs about 10 times that amount to the NHS.You should get some Glucogel either from Dsn, GP or buy privately at any pharmacy.
I think glucogel is deliberately disgusting to stop people taking it that aren't supposed to.Cheapest way to get the equivalent of glocogel/hypo stop is to go to the cake dept of any super market and buy a tube of liquid glucose. Yep - was checked for cushings too .lol me to. Do they check the pit for Cushing's?
I cant hack it at all - its like yucky slime to me .I think glucogel is deliberately disgusting to stop people taking it that aren't supposed to.

I got tested for this right off on my very first appointment with my diabetes consultant .
He asked me to do a full 24 hour urine sample and this was tested for cortisol levels
in my urine .
Plus a back f throat swab after midnight was collected .
Then had 2 lots of blood tests done .
Results were I hadn't got it though one test was a positive for something
I cant remember what nurse said it was I was too zonked out to retain this info .

Thats an interesting choice of snack, are they hard or chewy?
I honestly tend to stick with Juice as even coke bumps me up and drops me just as fast.
It wasnt so much the carb thing that got to me it was the 'Orange box' as We always call it. I'm still in disbelief!
