Thyroid

I've been diagnosed with the curse but also undergoing tests on my thyroid which is running high.
Is anyone aware of any link between the two. I gather they're both part of the endocrine (?) system.
I suppose I'm hoping if the thyoid is slowed down it might offset the diabetes. Can one affect the other ?
I've asked elsewhere so apologies if you've seen this question before.
Thanks

Hyperthroidism (overactive thyroid) can cause low blood glucose levels or reactive hypoglycaemia.

Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) can cause an elevation in blood glucose.

Both are very general rules though - the endocrine system maintains an immensely delicate balance, so a disruption to one part can often have major and wildly differing effects on different individuals.
